About Chimhyang: Scent of the Needle

Set in the Joseon era, the story follows Seo-jin and Do-ha, two men whose lives cross through medicine. Acupuncture needles and the scent of agarwood, chimhyang in Korean, become the thread between them, and what begins as duty slowly turns into something neither can name aloud. The period setting brings court rules and class lines into the romance, so every small gesture carries risk. The series avoids melodrama and lets quiet scenes do the work.

Season 1 is complete and has an EP.7 side story, plus a modern-day alternate-universe spin-off that places the same pair in today's Seoul. A Season 2 teaser arrived in October 2026. Episodes are six to ten minutes long, in Korean with English subtitles. Late Blue Night has not named its AI tools; the characters and backgrounds are fully generated, and the channel fills gaps with OST videos and deleted scenes. Chimhyang: Scent of the Needle is a single-channel production, not a studio release.

As of 26 October 2026, the OST music video sits at 734,876 views, the spin-off's first episode at 270,039, and the Season 2 teaser gathered 103,568 views in three days. The audience is Korean first, with a sizeable English-subtitle following across Asia and in BL fandoms worldwide. Episode-level view counts for Season 1 cannot be checked while those uploads are private.

While Season 1 of Chimhyang: Scent of the Needle is private, re-uploads and full-episode mirror sites multiply. Many are pirate copies that cut the subtitles, add fake ads or ask you to register.
